WEBINAR: More than a glue for fiber

While the static burst strength of Type IV composite pressure vessels is dominated by the high strength of the carbon fibers, there are as well a lot of certification requirements that can be influenced by a high-performance matrix system.

This Webinar will discuss the potentials of high-performance epoxy systems to improve the reliability of composite pressure vessels and potentially even to save the consumption of precious carbon fibers. At the same time, aspects of the manufacturing process of pressure vessels will be discussed in detail and optimized solutions will be proposed.

Pullwinding is the dominating technology for FRP rebar production. It is often mixed up with the pultrusion process, not considering specific requirements. In this webinar the differences between pultrusion and pullwinding will be highlighted and differentiated, including the resulting resin requirements and Olin’s latest innovations and developments for high throughput rebar manufacturing.

Epoxy, the underestimated success factor in filament winding of type 4 pressure vessels. Often underestimated but deeply interconnected, the properties and correct processing of the epoxy matrix in filament winding of composite pressure vessels are critical factors in driving fiber content optimization, curing times and scrap rates.

OLIN LITESTONE® System for rebar

Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) rebar has emerged as sustainable, lightweight, a corrosion resistant alternative to conventional steel-rebar. Minimizing the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during pultrusion of FRP rebar is key, not only for process and operator safety, but also for realizing the full potential of sustainable, large scale FRP rebar manufacturing. Olin’s novel epoxy system is able to meet and exceed the requirements and specifications of reinforced concrete (RC) applications, as presented.
